In 2012, it will be necessary to count on Suzuki in the category of roadsters of 250 cc: the manufacturer of Hamamatsu took advantage of the motorcycle show in Birmingham (England) to lift the veil on a novelty as original as it was unexpected: the Inazuma 250 !

A (very) small B-King !

Already used in the past on its GSX 750 and GSX 1200, the surname "Inazuma" resurfaced in the Suzuki 2012 range. The Yellows have indeed decided to resuscitate this name with the Inazuma 250, a 4-stroke roadster whose features inspired by the late B-King and GSR 600 on the front part.

Designed to give the answer to the, to the or even the new one, this Inazuma 250 releases a brand new block: an in-line twin cylinder set at 180 °, water-cooled and powered by electronic injection.

This 248 cc engine (53.5mm bore x 55.2mm stroke) is connected to a six speed gearbox and chain drive.

Compressed to 11.5: 1, this parallel twin would be particularly torquey at the usual speeds according to Suzuki … which however remains discreet on the torque value, just like on those of power and weight of this Inazuma 250 !

In the same way, the manufacturer of Hamamatsu hardly gives details on the geometry and the cycle part of its novelty 2012, apart from its seat height (780 mm), its wheelbase (1430 mm), its length (2145 mm) , its width (760 mm) and the capacity of its tank (13.3 liters).

The visuals provided by Suzuki, however, make it possible to identify a telescopic fork which is a priori non-adjustable, a steel cradle frame and a classic square-section swing arm (made of the same metal) on which a mono-shock absorber is attached..

Mounted on 110 mm wide wheels at the front and 140 mm at the rear, this Inazuma 250 is equipped with disc brakes, the front one being clamped by a two-piston caliper.

Undoubtedly as practical as it is economical in use, this new Suzuki addresses a few aluminum parts (footrests and passenger handle in particular), in order to contain its mass and flatter – a little – the eye of its future owners.

Finally, the new Suzuki Inazuma 250 has a fairly modern and complete dashboard which includes a needle tachometer and a digital screen..

This provides information on the speed, the total mileage, the mileage of the two daily trips, the time, the fuel level and the gear engaged. It also has an oil change reminder indicator and a white indicator located below the tachometer which indicates to the driver if he is driving "economically"..

Suzuki France is not yet able to give us a price for this Inazuma 250, but already ensures that its new "two-and-a-half" will be available in the "at the end of summer 2012" in red and black.
