Road rallies - 74th Rallye de l'Ain: one more Ain for Toniutti! - Quiet road course

For the second year in a row, Site and official KTM driver Julien Toniutti wins the Rallye de l’Ain on his KTM 990 Superduke against the Corsican resistance and after a suspense maintained until the end of the race ! Report.

Quiet road course

It’s beautiful, Ain … And fortunately, because with an average imposed at 50 km / h we have time to look at the landscape! One hour of connection to reach the next time control (CH) takes us on roads with different styles, each as pleasant as the next. Small mountain twist which is linked on a small piece of national road with beautiful curves (but with implacable police binoculars: a pilot will have his motorcycle seized for a more than excessive speeding!), Then to finish a mini forest road rutted, narrow and gravely.

At the CH, everyone obviously arrives nearly 20 minutes early, enough time to tell each other about our stages and compare our times..

Mikael Pefaure, former champion of France Sport 2005 and 2007 who had withdrawn from rallies after a small career of ten years, came to get a little bike ride on his Yamaha 450 WR "ex-Serge Nuques".

In ambush behind his motorbike in the Energy Release colors, we find Mik on a category podium at this 74th Ain rally (3rd in the "non-championship" scratch). The rally is like the bicycle, it cannot be forgotten !

The last link of this large loop must be done in 35 minutes. Always so quiet with the average at 50 km / h, a few droplets appear when approaching Cerdon but they quickly disappear. Phew !

Arrived at Cerdon (with another ten minutes early for most of the pilots), 20 minutes of assistance are granted to us. We refuel, we clean the visors, a quick snack and it starts again for a big loop.
