Although its aesthetic is modeled on those of the 750 and 1000, the 600 is unique and particularly rare for the category. By posting 163 kg dry, the GSX-R shattered the lightness record of the 600 sport. It now benefits from injection and a more incisive chassis based on that of the 750. Endowed with a bluffing agility, it plays with turns, throws itself into them without restraint, and remains imperative of stability. The front end is a bit less lively than that of the R6, but it is more reassuring and less fickle. We would like to thank the steering damper supplied as standard. The boiler now comes out 115 hp but it is above all its behavior which has improved a lot thanks to the injection. More docile and having (a little) more breath at the bottom of the tachometer, you still have to bring it beyond 8000 rpm so that it sends the big watts. Once in the right rev range, the bike takes off like crazy. When driving, the position is sporty but not radical, the saddle not too bad; even suspensions that are very efficient are complacent. The Suzuki defect is also installed in this supersport: braking, certainly effective and powerful, but lacking bite. We pass on the protection which gradually disappears from generation to generation. Obviously, such a machine has nothing to do in town or on vacation roads. Less radical than on an R6, the driving position is still very sporty. For use on the track, it is a formidable machine that has retained a certain user-friendliness.
