Suzuki RM-Z 450 2012

Menus

Particularly effective in the AMA championship, the RM-Z 450 inspires so much confidence in Suzuki that the latter did not consider it necessary to develop it in 2012. Just can we note fine modifications to improve the power (rate of compression brought to 12.5: 1). But for all MX-men, only the change of decoration will be visible, and on condition of looking very closely. With the RM-Z450, you have access to the winning balance by borrowing the design and technology of factory machines from Ryan DUNGEY, Steve RAMON and Clement DESALLE !

Engine design
The RM-Z450’s performance is driven by a 449cc liquid-cooled, dual overhead camshaft engine with electronic fuel injection. Specially designed to offer full character, the single cylinder of the RM-Z450 delivers phenomenal torque, ensuring immediate availability of power at low and mid-range..

Electronic injection
The new injection system of the RM-Z450 is based on a battery-less design that makes it lighter. Directly inspired by proven technologies, borrowed from the Suzuki GSX-R as well as the QuadRacer R450, this system manufactured by KEIHIN guarantees a gradual arrival of throttle. A KEIHIN fuel pump housed in an aluminum “factory” tank ensures a constant fuel pressure.

Gearbox
Designed to be both efficient and flexible, the 5-speed gearbox offers a gearbox suitable for the most varied terrains and conditions. The selection system allows a gear change combining smoothness, precision and speed.

Framework
The RM-Z450’s narrow chassis is built around a very light double-cradle aluminum frame that incorporates the lessons of competition to combine precision in curves, astounding ease in whoops and agility whatever the terrain. The narrow driving position offers a lot of ease to the rider who can thus ideally control his machine.

Suspensions
The dual-cartridge inverted fork and separate cylinder rear shock are both made by SHOWA and have been redesigned to provide more lightness and smoothness of shock absorption. Characterized by its lightness, the rear swingarm reinforces the performance of the suspensions.

Electrical design
The RM-Z450’s battery-less power supply uses a single-phase system with the magneto providing all the power it needs. The essential data for optimal engine power is provided by the 18-point magneto which takes into account the gear engaged, engine speed and torque delivered to provide optimal fuel injection as well as ideal ignition timing.

Design
The design of the RM-Z450 has been achieved to combine aggressive styling with optimized airflow. The front number plate, front fender, radiator expansion tank and side scoops have all been designed to promote cooling efficiency, while the rear trim design enhances the efficiency of the engine. ‘air intake.

“Factory” look
The RM-Z450 owes its factory “look” to many equipment directly from the competition: gold chain, hot choke button positioned on the right side of the handlebars, petal brake discs, saddle equipped with a special padding improving the Pilot’s “grip”, etc..
