Possible material defects in the forged blank of the alternator rotor can lead to weak points in the finished component. As a result, the rotor can break under high loads and damage the engine housing / generator cover. Any oil leaking out can lead to a fall. So far, however, no accidents related to this problem are known.

No US machines in customer hands

The models affected by the US recall were manufactured between July 3 and July 30, 2020. As Ducati USA emphasizes that all potentially affected machines are still with the dealers and will be upgraded with a new rotor if necessary before delivery. Replacing the components should take just under two hours.
