What are the main players in the motorcycle world doing during the lockdown linked to the Covid-19 pandemic? Ruffino Del Parco, General Manager of Ducati West Europe, spoke to Journal moto du Net.

MNC: Where are you confined ?

Ruffino Del Parco : I am currently in Italy in my house in Rome with my family, but I don’t really have company during the day because my wife is working and my children are studying and taking university exams online. And I also have my little dog by my side all day.

MNC: How are your days going? ?

R. D. P. : Well my day is very simple. It is a series of Skype from morning at 9 am until evening, without having a specific end-of-day schedule. Having to manage four countries (France and Benelux) with four different containment situations, I certainly can’t get bored. In addition, contacts with Borgo Panigale (headquarters of the Ducati factory, Editor’s note) are permanent. The pressure is different but it’s still a pressure. Business never stops.

MNC: What do you miss the most? The least ?

R. D. P. : What I miss the most is without a doubt the contact with my team … Teleworking is undoubtedly a useful tool, but daily teamwork is something else. What I miss the least is the evening solitude of my apartment. As my family is in Italy, usually I can only see them four days a month.

MNC: What are you afraid of ?

R. D. P. : I have no fear. Do not be afraid. I think this is an opportunity for all of us to reflect and that we must take advantage of this situation of forced exile to draw great lessons on how to act in the future.

MNC: A book, a film, a series, a record to recommend ?

R. D. P. : I could talk about it at length! I just point out a book and its television series that impressed me a lot: Unorthodox (on Netflix, Editor’s note). I also listen with my son to his vinyl collection. Yesterday it was the album "The Joshua Tree" by U2 (a must have released in 1987).

MNC: Your Favorite Motorcycle Video ?

R. D. P. : Easy, this is the video presentation of our incredible. A jewel of aesthetics and technique as well as immense power. It perfectly embodies the DNA of Ducati.

MNC: The first thing you will do at the end of the lockdown ?

R. D. P. : In addition to taking a plane and returning to Paris very quickly, I will definitely be visiting the Louvre. I haven’t been there yet !
