In 2020 the Keeway Superlight 125 was visually redesigned. The conversion to Euro 5 is now due for the 2021 model year.

Keeway from China produces around 1.2 million two-wheelers annually. One of these is the model Keeway Superlight 125 – and it has now been adapted to the current Euro 5 requirements.

One cylinder, two mufflers

According to Euro 5 homologation, the air-cooled 124 cubic single cylinder powers the crankshaft with 10.6 hp at 9,000 rpm and 8.9 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The five-speed gearbox has remained with the two-valve engine. An e-starter and a kick starter donate start-up assistance.

The somewhat bulky design, which somehow looks like a too hot-washed Harley, still determines the 16-inch front wheel with a 110/90 tire and the 130/90 tire on the 15-inch rear rim. Generously dimensioned fenders stretch over it. The drop tank with a chrome cap is followed by a stepped bench. Two angled exhaust mufflers appear to be quite generously dimensioned for a quarter liter displacement. The stoppers combine a 276 disc at the front and a 240 disc at the rear with a CS brake system. A conventional telescopic fork and two spring struts at the rear round off the steel frame chassis concept.

Not easy, but cheap

A seat height of just 730 millimeters always guarantees a safe stand. 12.5 liters of fuel in the tank promise a sufficient radius of action. Anything but Superlight, however, weighs 162 kilograms and is ready to drive.

Since the German Keeway importer has given up selling the brand, it is left to independent dealers to offer the Superlight 125 in this country. Keeway continues to be imported into other European countries. Accordingly, there are no prices for the revised Keeway Superlight 125. Most recently, the Euro 4 version was offered for just under 3,100 euros.
