The 125 in shape, the large cubes set back

With a total of 6,688 motorcycles and scooters over 50 cc registered in November 2014, the motorcycle market in France improved its score by + 1.9% compared to last year: 6,564 registrations were recorded in November 2013 , which was not famous (read our).

Like last year, the eleventh month of the year had 19 working days (against 21 in 2012), so that it is useless to (re) take out the calculators to estimate the state of health of the French market: no most brilliant, of course, but stable.

The weather last month was particularly unstable. Meteo France observes in particular that "the rains were very disparate. On average in France, precipitation was in excess of more than 40%", which does not do the business of bikers … and dealers.

In the south especially, the "succession of Mediterranean episodes this year is remarkable for its frequency and intensity of precipitation". Based in northern Italy, the MV Agusta factory even had to stop production due to flooding (read).

Good point for motorized two-wheelers – but not for the polar bear, nor for the man …: "averaged over France and over the month, the temperature was 2.8 ° C higher than normal. November 2014 is thus the second hottest November since 1900, behind 1994".

However, temperatures are dropping – compared to (Indian) summer 2014! – and the days are seriously shortening, resulting in a significant slowdown in activity. Among the 125 cc, there were 2495 immates in November 2014 against 4050 the previous month. For large cubes, we went from 6998 to 4193.

Compared to November 2013, the 125 cc sector nevertheless achieved a very good operation: + 22%! In the trough of the wave last year, small engines (excluding 50 cc) are therefore sticking their heads above water, in particular thanks to the n ° 1 Yamaha (+ 60.3%!) And its Tricity.

At the same time, large engines saw their sales drop by -7.2% compared to November 2013. Also leading in this market – that of "more than 125 cc" -, the Blues (-27.2%) and their MT-07 this time drag the market down…
