The market in equilibrium in February
A year ago, the French motorcycle market (motorcycles and scooters of 125 cc and more) finally regained its colors, picking up again after months of February – years! – and catastrophic (read our and our).
It is therefore with a certain satisfaction that the manufacturers and their networks saw the number of their sales almost equal in February 2015: with 8,706 registrations, the market shows a negligible decline of -0.8%, or 66 parts in value. absolute.
The performance is all the more correct as the weather was not particularly easy for users and buyers of two-wheelers: compared to the very mild – but very humid … – month of February 2014, last month has chilly summer.
"Very cold at the beginning of the month, temperatures softened from the 14"Observes Meteo France in" its "February report."On average, they were below normal over almost the entire country". As for the rainfall, it would have been"nearly 10% above normal".
20 working days
Like last year, February had 20 working days in 2015. At the same time, concessions were opened for 20 days as well, this year as last year. There is therefore no correction to be made on the raw data delivered by the administration (AAA).
Stable last January (+ 0.1%), sales of 125 cc in France fell by -8% the following month. Behind the leader Yamaha (-1.5%) and its challenger Honda (+ 4.9%), the other manufacturers are struggling … Except Kymco (+ 15.3%) and Mash (+ 55.7%) ).
While the small cars harvested around a hundred immats less than in January 2015, the large cubes had a good harvest in February: nearly 1,000 immats more than the previous month and a hundred more than in February. 2014.
Far behind the stratospheric Yamaha (+ 44.9%), Kawasaki (+ 10%) takes second place in the standings while BMW (-6.6%) remains on the podium. Honda and Suzuki take a nosedive while Harley, Triumph and KTM climb slightly and Ducati take off with their Scramblers (+ 73%).
