Yamaha plans to produce its PES1 and PED1 electric motorcycles

At the last Tokyo Motorcycle Show, Yamaha revealed two rather attractive and very light electric motorcycle prototypes (between 94 and 110 kg): the intended for the road and the, its off-road version. "These bikes will deliver the performance expected by motorcycle fans, while providing a new riding experience," said Yamaha executives. Equipped with an automatic or manual transmission and powered by lithium-ion batteries, the PES1 and PED1 would join the, the equivalent 50 cc electric scooter marketed by Yamaha since early 2011.

In the promotional video of the PES1 (below), we can see in particular that the bike actually seems close to a marketable version since it is equipped with headlights (LED) and instrumentation (fully digital). The opportunity to see that this small "sports battery" would be able to take 100 km / h, which suggests that it could be at least an equivalent 125 cc.
