Jonas Geitner had to tick off the first two IDM rounds. At the start of the season at the Nurburgring, his forward thrust failed in both races due to technical defects on the Kawasaki ZX-6R. In the second run he was in second position when the motorcycle went on strike. To get going for the second IDM round in Zolder, the 21-year-old Bavarian took part in a Supermoto DM race in Grossenhain, where he broke his ankle on his left foot. Geitner had to be operated on. He now absolutely wants to drive in Schleiz. “I haven’t scored a single point this season”, the carpenter from Wernberg-Koblitz is very excited. The Kawasaki Schnock Team Motorex is looking forward to his return. Geitner is the Greens’ podium hope. However, he has not completely recovered. Geitner drives with restrictions. “The switching movement is the problem, but I have permission from the doctor to at least try. This is my home race after all.”
