From "Monst-air" to "Mostr-eau"…

Unsurprisingly, the power and torque values of the Monster 821 are therefore very close to those of the Hypermot ‘: 112 hp and 89 Nm of torque, i.e. 2 additional horsepower and identical torque for the novelty (+25 hp and +11 Nm compared to Monster 796).

Ducati does not give more details about the work carried out on the Testastretta 11 °, but indicates that its ardor will be channeled via an anti-slip adjustable on 8 levels and three different injection maps..

An ABS offering three degrees of intrusion will be responsible for assisting the work of the Brembo 4-piston radially mounted calipers installed at the front. A braking system that should have no trouble stopping the 179.5 kg dry announced for this new "Monstr-eau" (+10.5 kg compared to the M796 with ABS).

The brand ensures that its cycle part articulated around a steel trellis frame calls for "excellent suspensions" … but without giving more details. From the visuals provided, MNC leans for a fully adjustable Showa or Kayaba inverted fork and a Sachs monoshock, at least adjustable in preload and rebound. A mix used in particular on the Monster 1200 (reread our).

Available in red, white and Dark version

Unlike this one and the Monster 796, the novelty ignores the single-sided swingarm, undoubtedly to contain the price which amounts to "10,495 € incl. VAT, excluding transport and start-up costs".

Good news: the Monster 821 will also be offered in a "Dark" (black) version for € 9995 (excluding transport and start-up costs). Or only 345 euros more than the Monster 796.

Finally, young people allowed and the shortest on legs will appreciate knowing that this new Ducati would be eligible for the A2 motorcycle license (despite its power greater than 95 hp) and that its height is adjustable, as on the Monster 1200.

Those who are nostalgic will note that the Ducati range now only has one air-cooled motorcycle: the "Mostro" 696. But they should be reassured:, a priori powered by the air-powered Desmodue, it should not take long to arrive !
