As reported by the American traffic safety authority NHTSA, the recall affects Thruxton models from the construction period 2016 to 2018, Thruxton R models from the construction period 2016 to 2019 and Thruxton TFC models from the year of construction 2020. In the USA, a total of 3,244 motorcycles are being recalled by the authorities. We asked the German importer for figures for Europe and Germany as well as the start of a possible recall campaign in this country.

The return spring on the side stand can break on the motorcycles affected by the recall. As a result, the side stand can unfold in an uncontrolled manner and switch off the engine or get stuck in the roadway. In the worst case, it can lead to a fall.

A possibly broken spring is not immediately recognizable because the spring is in a rubber tube. In the USA, the recall will start at the beginning of February 2020. When visiting the workshop, the spring will be checked and, if necessary, replaced. Triumph puts the time required to replace the spring at just under 5 minutes.
